As reported by The Express, Antonio Conte is considering leaving Chelsea at the end of the season and returning to Italy.
What’s the story?
Conte has led a resurgence at Stamford Bridge after the return of Jose Mourinho eventually went badly wrong, delivering the English Premier League title last term and bringing winning football back to the club.
A worry then for fans that the Italian is considering walking away from the club at the end of the season due to missing his home.
That’s according to The Express, who say the manager is also frustrated with the lack of backing in the summer transfer window.
The paper say that he has already come close to quitting, just weeks after winning the title last season.
He wouldn’t be struggling for jobs in his homeland with Inter Milan or AC Milan likely destinations, according to the report.
Last season’s Manager Of The Year has barely started his transformation of Chelsea in the context of where the club could end up in the future. With European football still a priority there’s progress to be made there, the dream being they can once again lift the UEFA Champions League trophy.
