New Formation, 3 New Changes!!! Conte Reveal Chelsea Game Plan Ahead Of Liverpool Clash

Written by

Having rotated his squad against Qarabag in midweek, Antonio Conte will be looking to revert back to a lineup that was so successful last weekend against West Brom.

Speaking in his Friday presser, it was noted that the beard that the manager has been sporting was gone. That came as a result of his daughter saying the ‘face fungus` made him look older.

With regards to the fitness of his squad, there were no new issues to report and the manager stated that Victor Moses will, likely be on the bench for tomorrow`s game.

So, with 3-5-2 now the go-to-formation Chelsea could lineup as follows. Thibaut Courtois is a given for the keepers spot. In the three man defence Gary Cahill, rested in Azerbaijan, will be the trio`s left-sided man. Andreas Christensen, product of the Chelsea academy, will replace his understudy from mid-week, David Luiz, in the centre. On the right Cesar Azpilicueta will take up his familiar role.

The wing-backs will, as ever be, Marcos Alonso and, unless Conte springs a surprise and plays Moses, Davide Zappacosta. The midfield three will be built around N`golo Kante of course. There`s no reason for Conte to not play Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas alongside side him.

Conte has also been speaking about the Spaniard and his role in the team this season that`s seen him as pretty much un-droppable.

`’Last season maybe he didn`t deserve to start, but now he deserves to play regularly. At the same time I understand he needs a bit of rest because he is playing every game. Now I have four midfielders in good form and for sure I need to have rotation.`

`I am very happy because Cesc is showing great commitment in two faces, with the ball and without the ball. Also, when we play with three midfielders, he is more free offensively.`

Is that a hint that Fabregas may be rested, possibly for Danny Drinkwater, we`ll see. The front two really pick themselves. Eden Hazard will be playing just off Alvaro Morata. It`s a combination that is starting to come into it`s own, in terms of assists and goals. Let`s hope that continues on Saturday evening.
