Why I Avoid Buhari’s Meeting With Governors – Fayose

Written by
Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose said he did not deliberately avoid meeting President Muhammadu Buhari with the governors on Friday.

Fayose said he was unable to attend the meeting because he faced his installation of the headquarters.

“For those hinting that I avoided the President’s meeting with the governors, I did not do it. I had my installation as Ado Ekiti Apesin scheduled for today,” the governor wrote on Twitter Friday.

He added that “the guests were already in Ekiti since yesterday for the installation of the title of head office before receiving the notification of the meeting with the President”.

Buhari at the meeting said that the governors have been “doing their best”.

The President, who had earlier met with the leadership of the PDP, and the All Progressive Congress, APC, said: “I just addressed the members of APC and PDP senior officials who came to welcome me.

“I thank you very much for the national focus on your leadership, those who are leaders at the political level and those who are chief executives in their respective states.”
